M2 — M2 — Manufacturing District

M2 is a New York City manufacturing district — the “Manufacturing District” — established by the NYC Zoning Resolution (§11-122). Purpose (Zoning Resolution §41-00): these districts are designed to promote and protect public health, safety, and general welfare. Maximum floor area ratio by M2 district (per Zoning Resolution §43-12): FAR across M2 districts ranges from 2.00 to 5.00. M2-1 2.00 · M2-2 5.00 · M2-3 2.00 · M2-4 5.00 Bulk / density (from the Zoning Resolution): Qualifying uses <Qualifying uses= shall include certain commercial and manufacturing uses eligible for higher permitted floor area ratio in M2 and M3 Districts with an A suffix.
